  10. Bridget! Your alive!!! Welcome back and we hope to see you. Seems that one of this weeks organisms has made you sick! Heck of a way to learn about viruses and bacteria. Your poor locker misses you something awful. Make good use of this blog and the pink or green two side vocab sheet. Make sure you check with your homework buddies!

Glad to hear you are better,
    Mr. C

  11. Hi Diana:

Flash said stop by and get Kayleen. Then take him for a walk!

Hope the study guide helps and thank Kathleen. Maybe you and Megan R can make the next study guide?

    Mr. C

  12. Mr. C, I'll start the rest of the blog questions now.

    ----

#8 - It says in the book bacteria can be identified by their shape. The basic shapes are c. Rod shaped, spiral shaped, and round -- and maybe even filamentous.

#11 - In the book it says nanometers are billionths of a meter, and 950,000 viruses can fit on the face of a penny. 9,500,000 viruses can also fit on the length of your pencil.

#15- Host- an organism invaded by a virus.
Parasite- an organism that lives on or in an organism of another species
You should get it from that. (:

#16- The same answer to the question, 'what organelle helps plants make food?'

#17- Cyanobacteria can fix nitrogen, which helps plants grow (it's in fertilizer) and is in the atmosphere.

  13. Hi Kathleen:
Don't give away the answers! You have done your fair share not let someone else do theirs! Give the page #'s from the text book or give clues. Make them THINK and show them how to find the info.

I will post the ?'s when you send them.

Tell Emily she has to do your snow shoveling as you are helping me!

    Ha Ha!!!
    Mr. C

    ReplyDelete
  14. Okay, at least I explained them.
    I'm sending the questions now.

...but I get paid for shoveling.

    ReplyDelete
  15. "25 cents each or 3 for a buck."
    (on homepage)

Let's hope no one's stupid enough to fall for that scam. XD

John, good question but the test is already made up and waiting for you guys on Monday!

I'll change the spelling of llamas, thanks John!

Be careful and DO NOT post your full name to the www or a blog. Just use your first name or at MOST your first name and last initial. Lost of weirdoes out there please be VERY careful what you put on the web for personal information. Less is MORE!

Just in from snow blowing 6 driveways. I miss Florida! Flash got tired from watching me and had to go in.

Rocco I think your password was ilovescience. Will have to visit your blog and check it out.

I think you all owe Kathleen a Twinkie or two for all her hard work.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hi Mike:

Odd that my name/blog does not come up on a google search. I noticed that the day I made the first study guide. This is why I printed out the URL and put it ont the chalk board.

So far there have been quite a few people using the site to study. Most likely will be more on Sunday.

Try and get in some study time. Don't spend all weekend throwing snow balls at your sister!

    Mr. C

    ReplyDelete
  27. Thats ok,

I'll try to think of one earlier for the next test.

By the way this is a really good idea, its helps me with my studying

    Thanks Mr.C

    ReplyDelete
  28. I don't have to worry about that. I'm throwing snowballs at Tay. She's an easy target.

Oh, and yes. Twinkies please. x)

  35. mr.carrison, this site is very helpful for the test tommorw, but there are a lot of spelling and gramatical errors on it. After all you are only a science teacher, not an english one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hola Meg... I found many different anwsers for your Q-Dr.A.R. Campbell proved that smallpox was spread by bedbugs, but some say that Edward Jenner found the cure.

  42. Dear Grammar Police:

I went back and fixed a few questions. This is a study guide not a thesis! Boy oh boy is Mrs. Y honing your English skills! To bad these blog generators do not have a better word processor and more options to jazz up the presentation.

Flash and I looked for the llamas misspelling but did not find it. I fixed one llama mistake last night.

Per a request I added a few more pictures.

Make sure you visit Rocco's blog and leave a comment! Mike also has a blog but did not leave a URL.

    See you all Monday.
