HELP! The Plants Are Outsmarting Me!
We farm plants but do not ourselves photosynthesize, we are hetertrophs!
OK, short week so not much to put on the blog. To be successful I would:
Read and take quality notes on 42-53
To SAVE paper and the environment please find the weekly vocab list below:
  • Cellular respiration
  • Fermentation – both types
  • Glucose
  • Heterotrophic or Heterotroph
  • Autotrophic or Autotroph
  • Lactic Acid
  • Mitochondria
  • Chloroplast
  • Chlorophyll
  • Photosynthesis
  • Pigment
  • Fungi Kingdom
  • Plant Kingdom
  • Animal Kingdom
  • Producer
  • Consumer

To be successful on Friday's test, consider:

  • Check out the chapter review in the back of the chapter
  • Make sure I know all the words used in ALL the handouts
  • Review and know all the crossword puzzle words
  • Review and know all the words and terms on the TWO guided reading sheets we did in class.
  • Know the Magnetic Word sheet cold!
  • Might go and check out the MCAS questions on respiration, fermentation and photosynthesis on the DOE's web site. Hum, wonder if I will have time to swipe some of these? Might even use some high school questions! They are review questions for information we cover this year in science. You might consider trying the following words for ALL subjects or Science, Technology, Engineering:

- Chlorophyll
- Photosynthesis
- Glucose
- Respiration

    We have a live actual TUBA player for real on our team. Heck, she's even a red head to boot!!!

    Tess:

    We did the worksheets in class today and I bored them to death with a demo that was yeast, sugar and water. The yeast ate or broke down the sugar using fermentation to get at the stored chemical energy. This gave off _________ as tiny bubbles and made _____________ that mixed with the water. The last “stuff” accumulated until it kills off all the yeast. This happens when the "stuff” reaches a concentration of any where between 8 to 14%. This poisonous “stuff” is produced by yeast when bread rises but is cooked off due to the oven’s heat. The “stuff” is volatile and flammable! Check with you homework buddy for more info!

    Ok, time to go home and see what Flash is up to.

    Im the only violaist/violinist/ok at cellist, mostly violaist In THE WHOLE SCHOOL I should get points (but I will admit Leah D [my preschool bff] is a really good cellist, but she doesn't also play viola and violin. Seriously if a Tuba player gets points, a violaist should

    Hello All:

    All in all not bad on the test but there are a few of my students who I would have liked to see do BETTER!

    AL/cow bladder:

    Next A from you and I'll give you a hunk of cow bladder!

    See you all Monday, we start two labs. One on cheek cells and the other on onion skin. 50 points each. Could be an easy A! Follow the directions, pay attention, detail, detail, detail and label correctly.

    fiona im insulted you think I that you think its weird I don't play viola in a school band. Many reasons for that 1 I have EXTREMELY negetive feelings for that Mr. Lacard and 2 the viola is an ocistra instrument 3 I find the music the band plays extremely boring and don't take it personally but I would be embarrased to play for Mr Lassard.

    Anonymous-

    First of all, it's "Lessard", not "Lacard" or "Lassard".

    Second, you're right, a string instrument is an "orchestra" instrument, so strings are not allowed in the Band.

    Third, you must not have any taste in music whatsoever if you find the Band music boring.

    How would you be embarrassed? Mr. Lessard has yet to do something that I feel would have people wishing there were not under his teaching.
